More wildlife!

In Cochabamba, there's a river that runs through the middle of town. Well, it would be a river in the rainy season, now it's more like a trickle.

Anyways, today there were sheep in the river! This is the third time I've seen them or so, there's this farmer who herds his sheep up and down the river or something like that. The baby ones are so cute!

Hi Ali,
I'm a friend of Claire and your Dad. I was at a BBQ at their place 10 days ago and he told me you are in Bolivia!, no less, for 3 months or so.
I met you briefly at your dad's 50th birthday over a year ago (there were tons of people there so I don't expect you to remember me).
What on earth are you doing in Bolivia? I have never been to Cochabamba but I can imagine it's a far cry from Toronto and Rosedale. I grew up in Chile and while in university (many years ago), during a summer research job I had the chance to visit a bordering rural village in Bolivia. It was a very interesting experience but the living conditions of the people and the lack of hope for a better future made an indelible impression.
Downtown Cochabamba is probably better but sad to say, things have not changed dramatically for the majority of the people as Bolivia continues to be one of the poorest countries in Latin America.
On a more practical level, how are you adjusting to the altitude and the food? I lived in Mexico for 5 years (while working for ERC) and I never got used to the food among other things. How are they treating you? any chance to make some friends? I understand you are living with a family.
I don't mean to interrogate you. Take care.
